New Vicar Announced

We are very pleased to announce that St Anne’s has just appointed a new vicar. We have been without a vicar since Rev Andrew Spear left last May. After an interview at the end of February we appointed Rev Bruce Goodwin as our new Incumbent. As well as being vicar of St Anne’s, Bruce will be Priest in Charge of the United Church Longwell Green.

Currently Bruce is Senior Chaplin at the University of Gloucestershire. Before that he undertook a curacy in Thornbury after studying Theology at Trinity College in Bristol. At an earlier stage in his career Bruce lived for many years in Oman where he headed up teaching English as a foreign language in a university there.

Bruce will leave the University of Gloucestershire at the end of the academic year and will move to Oldland in August. Bruce will be licensed into his new ministry with us by the bishop at UCLG (Longwell Green) on 4th September.

Bruce is married to Jo and they have two adult children who are both studying at university.

We are looking forward to their ministry with us and UCLG in the future. Please pray for Bruce and Jo as they make arrangements to move here.
