St Anne's enjoys working hard and playing hard together as a church family. Therefore there are regular events for the family to get involved in which are listed on the left. However, the regular weekly newsletter items will be posted below to give an overall feel of what is happening at our church.

Open the Book  - Please can anyone who would be interested in being part of the Open the Book Assembly Teams, taking the message of the Gospel into Primary Schools in a fun and exciting way, have a word with Louise Waters to find out more.

Items for the Julian Trust to be placed in the basket at the back of church please. specifically requested are: UHT milk, tinned tomatoes, tinned tuna, squash, tinned custard, margarine and washing powder. Please note that clothes are not required at this time.

For those of the congregation who attend the Sunday 9.00 am service you are asked to note that on the 3rd and 5th Sundays of the month this will be a reflective Morning Prayer service rather than the usual Communion. Your continued support to the service and to our lay ministers who will generally be leading the reflective services will be greatly appreciated.

St Anne's wins a Bronze Award!!  It's not only Olympians who can win medals. St Anne's has been awarded a 'Safe and Welcome' Bronze medal by Bristol Diocese for our work on ensuring we have a safe community for children & vulneable adults and ensuring we welcome all into our church.

At our APCM, on 23rd April, elections were held for various posts. The list below shows who has been elected to, or continues in, each position. Note that final confirmation of most positions will be dependent on successful DBS checks. Churchwardens: David Gray and Steve Hemmings; Deputy Wardens: Peter Holmes and David Wright; Assistant Wardens: Dorian Morris, Jim Durrant; PCC: Molly Cox, Karen Wilmot, Gill Beer, Becky Reynolds, Rachel Sanders, Mary Brown, Dan Blackwell, Fi Hemmings; Deanery Synod Reps: Lindsay Grant, Ernie Parry, Richard Bryant. Note that our Associate Ministers (3) and Lay Ministers (3) and Deanery Synod reps are all Ex Officio members of the PCC.

The “St Anne’s Shed” (our churchyard working party) meets on Monday afternoons @ 1.30pm

Turning Bristol events offer a rare opportunity for worship & outreach.

On  Friday 26th May @ 7.30-9.30pm at St Michael's Church, Gloucester Rd, BS7 8NT, there is a Worship & Encounter evening that is sure to be lively and give an opportunity to soak in Jesus' presence.

Then on Saturday 27th May @ 10.00am-1.00pm there is an opportunity to get Training and Evangelism at 58th Scouts Hall, Gadshill Road, BS5 6PU. This will be followed by the chance to put your learning into practice with outreach around Eastville Park.

On 27th and 28th May the Eastville Park music festival titled 'Love Saves the Day 2017' takes place.

Thy Kingdom Come - Various prayer activities are planned at St, Anne's as part of the Global Wave of Prayer, which is being held between Ascension and Pentecost, 25th May to 4th June.  Details of our local events arranged are:
30th May @ 7pm - Prayer walk in the local area. Meet at church, (if it's wet we will pray in the church!).
1st June @ 9.30am - Prayer morning in St Anne's Church.

Our next KRASH Club for parents/carers and pre-school children will be on Tuesday 13 June at 10.30am. This is held in the Orchard Rooms and is great fun. Do come along to chat to the adults and welcome them to St Anne's.

New wine Christian event 2017 - If you are interested in going to New Wine next year, St Anne's family members will be going to week 1, which starts on Sat 22nd July. We are going to book in with Phil Bradley's church using his church's name - St Sampson's Cricklade. If you want to know more about New Wine or booking a place, please call Karen on 9080391.

29th June - 1st July - The 'What If' group will be performing 'Little Shop of Horrors' at SBL Academy. Performances @ 7.30pm on all three days, with a Saturday Matinee on 1st July @ 2.30pm.  Tickets available from Dan Blackwell, or visit

Saturday 15th July: Duck Race & BBQ. 5.00pm start at The Brook.

Wednesday 19th July – Mothers’ Union outing to Oakham Treasures. There will be space for other church family members to join. Coach from Church Hall at 10.30am, cost £12.00p for fare and entry. For further details contact Suzanne Harrad (9325366) or Rita Brett (3295183).

UCLG Holiday Club runs from 24-27th July (inc) from 9am to 1pm. If anybody would like to be involved on some of these days please contact Chris Spencer or Lynda Lark.  Contact numbers are: 9328726 & 9323950.

ADVANCE NOTICE:  A parish away weekend at Brunel Manor in Torbay is being organised. This will take place next year from 5th to 7th October 2018. We have enjoyed weekends at Brunel Manor before and this should be equally good. Please buy a 2018 diary and put in this date!
